Hey all. Well it is too hot to cook in my neck of the woods. About 90 degrees and humid. A storm would be nice. Our air conditioner is not working, so I told the kids we order out tonight. Ok with them. I think pizza is the food of choice. Hopefully someone will be here tomorrow to repair the air conditioner. You do not know how much you miss an appliance until it breaks.

bid 4 prizes
Hey all. I was on the internet this afternoon and I came across an awesome site that I thought you should check out.
lowest bid is an auction site with a very unique twist. The lowest unique bid wins the auction. So, if you bid 6 cents and no one else bids that amount and it is the lowest bid, then you win. How great is this? As I was checking out the site, I came across an awesome item that I would like to bid on.
panasonictvtheatresystem?CID=542
is a great product and our home is in need of a new tv. How great would this whole system be? Talk about a television. There are two and one half hours left and the bid range is between 2647 cents - 2667 cents. I am going to have to keep an eye on this one. Wish me luck.

Dessert
Hey all. Here is a recipe for an awesome dessert. It is called chocolate covered peanut butter cheesecake pops.
Peanut butter, chocolate, and cheesecake? Put it on a pop and it's all our favorite things in a kid- and party-friendly form.
Cheesecake:
1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
1 1/2 pounds cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup heavy cream
3 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups creamy peanut butter
Chocolate:
5 tablespoons vegetable shortening
12 ounces semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
Wooden pop sticks
For the cheesecake: Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 325 degrees F. Line a 8 by 8-inch baking pan with foil letting long flaps overlap on each side. Spray foil with nonstick spray.
Break up the brown sugar to remove all lumps. In a standing mixer with the paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese and sugar on medium speed until very smooth. Add the cream and beat slowly; then add the eggs and vanilla mixing until just combined. Gently stir in peanut butter. Take care not to over beat the mixture; this incorporates too much air and causes the cheesecake to crack.
Pour and evenly spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Open the oven to release some heat, then lower the temperature to 200 degrees F. Continue to bake the cheesecake until the outside is set but the center is still loose, for about 45 minutes. Turn off the oven, and cool cheesecake in the oven for 45 more minutes. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.
Lift cheesecake from the pan by lifting up the foil. Transfer to a cutting board. Cut into
1 1/2-inch cubes. Stick a wooden pop stick halfway into each bar and freeze for 1 hour.
Meanwhile, put the shortening and chocolate in a medium heatproof bowl. Bring a saucepan filled with an inch or so of water to a very slow simmer; set the bowl over, but not touching, the water. Stir the chocolate occasionally until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly. (Alternatively, put the chocolate in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Melt at 50 percent power in the microwave until soft, about 1 minute. Stir, and continue to heat until completely melted, about 1 minute more.)
Dip the pops into the chocolate mixture, and stand on waxed paper to set, about 5 minutes. Serve cool, or freeze up to 2 weeks. If frozen, remove pops from the freezer 30 minutes before serving.

There is no fat and it tastes great. We will not eat the pork since we tried it and anyone who comes over and tries it is hooked too. Be sure to try it.

Mortgages
Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across a site that affects so many of us, so I decided to pass it on to you all.
home mortgage is a site that discusses home mortgages. So many of us these days own a home, but so very few are able to pay cash for one these days. So, therefore, the task of locating the best interest rate comes into play. With what a home costs these days, it is crucial to find the best interest rate possible. Even one half of a percent can make a huge difference in your monthly payment. Then there is the decision of how long to take out the mortgage for, how many years. As i was on this site, reading some of the articles that they have posted, I came across a few that I found to be very interesting and wanted to mention them to you. One article is titled, How Does a Home Equity Loan Work? It discusses just that. Going on to explain how it works, and other areas that are very important for you to understand when thinking about a home equity loan on your house. Another article is What is a Home Equity Line of Credit and Is It Good For You? This is another good article and very helpful to someone thinking about a home equity line of credit for their home whether it is for remodeling, or home improvements, or perhaps for that special vacation. There are many of other articles on this site, many I believe that you will find very useful too, these are just two that caught my eye. Mortgages these days do require research when choosing the one to best suit your particular needs. I think many of the articles on this site will assist you in your endeavor of choosing the best home mortgage loan for you.

Daylily
So after talking to you about daylilys, I starting looking on the internert about them. I came across a great article for you to checkout if you are interested.
he daylilies comprise the small genus Hemerocallis of flowering plants in the family Hemerocallidaceae. Despite the name they are not true lilies (Lilium, Liliaceae). The name Hemerocallis is based on the Greek words for day and beauty, which reflects the fact that the individual flowers last for only one day. The flowers of most species open at sunrise and wither at sunset, to be replaced by another one (sometimes two or none) on the same stem the next day; some species are night-blooming. Because individual flowers are short-lived, they do not make good cut flowers for formal flower arranging although they otherwise make good cut flowers as new flowers will continue to open on cut stems over several days.
Originally from Eurasia, native from Europe to China, Korea, and Japan, their large showy flowers have made them popular worldwide, and there are over 60,000 registered named cultivars. Only a few cultivars are scented; some will rebloom later in the season, particularly if their developing seed pods are removed.
The alternating lanceolate leaves are grouped into fans (a clump also containing the roots and the crown). The crown of a daylily is the small white portion of the stem, between the leaves and the roots. This crown is an essential part of the fan. Along the scape, proliferations may form at nodes or in bracts. These proliferations form roots when planted and are the exact clones of the parent plant. Some daylilies show spindlelike widenings at the roots, used mostly for water storage.
The flower consists of three petals and three sepals, collectively called tepals, each with a midrib in the same or in a contrasting color. The centermost section of the flower, called the throat, has usually a different and contrasting color. There are six stamens, each with a two-lobed anther. After pollination, the flower forms a pod.
Daylilies can be grown in USDA plant hardiness zones 1 through 11, making them some of the most adaptable landscape plants. Most all of the cultivars have been developed within the last 100 years. The large-flowered clear yellow 'Hyperion', introduced in the 1920s, heralded a return to gardens of the once-dismissed daylily and is still widely available. Daylily breeding has been a specialty above all in the United States, where the heat- and drought-resistant qualities of Hemerocallis made them garden standbys during the later 20th century. New cultivar introductions have sold for thousands of dollars, but sturdy and prolific introductions soon reach reasonable prices.
The last couple of paragraphs are most interesting. The beginning is more technical.

Ziti
Hey all. Baked ziti for dinner tonight. I am making it a new way that I saw on tv. After cooking the ziti, drain it and then add a generous amount of riccota cheese to it. Then add some sauce and lots more locatelli cheese. I like that kind best. Finally some mozzarella cheese on top and then broil it for a few minutes to melt the cheese. I will let you know how it is. It sounded really good. Also some garlic bread and a salad on the side.

PPP Direct
Hey all I was on the internet this afternoon and I came across something that I wanted to pass on the you all, particularly to all you posties.
blog marketing is something that is newly launched as a PayPerPost concept. Here is a little background on the whole thing. The main thing about PPP Direct is the benefit to us the posties. You see PPP Direct cuts out the overhead that many of their competitors have. For instance, a site like ReviewMe, one of their competitors charge anywhere from 50-100% of a markup and they keep up to half of your money. Money that you earned.PPP Direct only charges a mere 10% fee and of that 5% goes towards transaction fees for PayPal and credit card processing. If you are interested in learning more, a video, that is an overview of the whole new PPP Direct is available to view at this site http://blog.payperpost.com/2007/05/payperpost-direct-overview.html . Keep in mind you fellow posties, with PPP Direct we are receiving the most amount of money possible for our work in writing ads and with this site we have the safety and security of an escrow-like service that will assure us of getting paid for our work. I think this whole new concept is awesome and I speak for, I am sure, many other posties, when I say hats off to the crew at PPP for another great launch. Keep up the great work. This site rocks..

Dinner Tonight
Hey all. What to have for dinner tonight. Here is a recipe I found that you should try too. It is one of Rachel Rays 30 minutes meals.
Double-Decker Baked Quesadillas
Thicker than soup and thinner than soup, this spicy veggie meal fills you up without filling you out!
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of pan, plus some for brushing tortillas
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 large onion, chopped
3 ribs celery, chopped with greens
3 cloves garlic, chopped
Salt and pepper
1 (28-ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 can crushed tomatoes
2 cups vegetable or chicken stock
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro or flat-leaf parsley
6 flour tortillas, 6 to 8 inches
1 cup shredded Cheddar, available in pouches on dairy aisle
3 scallions, chopped
4 ounce brick Pepper Jack or chipotle cheese, shredded, about 1 cup
Sour cream, to pass at table
Avocado Smash, recipe follows
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Heat a medium soup pot over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan and the jalapenos, bell pepper, onions, celery and garlic. Top with another tortilla and top each of those with equal amounts of Pepper Jack cheese. Set the last tortillas on top and brush tops with extra-virgin olive oil. Cook 10 minutes in the oven to melt cheese and crisp up tortillas. Cool quesadillas 5 minutes to set then cut each quesadilla into 6 pieces.
Serve bowls of stoup with 3 wedges quesadilla along side each bowlful. Pass the Avocado Smash and the sour cream for topping soup or quesadillas.
Avocado Smash:
1 avocado
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro leaves
3 scallions, thinly sliced
1 lime, juiced
1 cup sour cream
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 plum tomato, finely chopped
Remove 1 avocado flesh to a bowl. Add the cilantro and scallions. Pop the lime in the microwave for a few seconds. Add the juice of 1 lime, the sour cream, and season with salt and pepper. With a fork or spoon, smash up the mixture, leaving chunks for a good consistency.

Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across a site that I know many of you will be interested in, so I wanted to pass it on to you all.
credit cards is a new credit card site. It caught my eye because face it, these days having a credit card is becoming a necessity. You need one to order almost anything online or over the phone. Well this site is an award winning credit card site. This site has been voted the best credit card for four straight years in a row. That is quite an honor. This award was given to them through the Guardian Consumer Finance Awards in the years 2002, 2003, 2004 and finally 2005. This site gives you the choice between two different cards. The choices available are either the classic card that comes with cash back on every penny or the low rate gold card. It is your choice, which ever works best for your specific needs.
If you are looking for a new or different credit card, I urge you to check out this site. You will really be glad that you did.

Tomorrow
So tomorrow is going to be busy. I have a ton of paperwork to do. The grocery shopping. Just a few things to hold the family over. Make dinner, then in the evening is my daughter's Honors Society induction. She is a class officer, so it is really a big deal. I think we are planning on going for ice cream afterwards. I will let you know how it goes.

Sunday night
Hey all. Well it is Sunday night already. Nothing good on the TV as I checked. I do not watch that much anyway. I think I am too beat to get interested in a show anyway. My husband was away this past week and got home late last night. It is nice to have him home and I know he is glad to be back. Business calls him away from time to time.

ADHD
Hey all. I was on the internet this afternoon and I came across an interesting site that I thought would be of interest to many of you so I wanted to pass it on.
Click Here for A Free ADHD Evaluation is a site that discusses ADHA. To those of you residing in the Boston area, a community service program and had eased the burden on early diagnosis by cutting though some of the red tape in this situation. ADHA has recently shown an increase in awareness as we seem to see more and more people becoming diagnosed with this condition. According to the site, the Wellness Center of Andover, Mass. has recently started a free evaluation program which is open to the public with no restrictions regarding one's age or income level. Please read the following press release that I have included to learn more on this topic.
This is a sponsored post.
Press Release:
North Andover, Mass., March 28, 2007 – According to the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), proper diagnosis is a critical step in the process of managing ADD/ADHD. Unfortunately, a proper diagnosis -- defined as one that is “made by a professional with training in ADHD or in the diagnosis of mental disorders” can be an expensive, time-consuming process beyond the reach of many suffering with the disorder. To raise public awareness of the importance of proper diagnosis, and make diagnosis available to everyone in the greater Boston area, the ADD Health and Wellness Center of Andover, Mass. has initiated a free evaluation program which is open to the public with no restrictions regarding age or income level.
“The system of care in the U.S. for individuals with ADD/ADHD is a confusing maze,” said Robert S. Baurys, II, CEO of ADD Health and Wellness Centers, Inc.
“The system is so broken that diagnostic testing has become a last resort for people willing to dig deep into their pockets in hopes of finding some relief, and that’s just plain backwards,” Baurys added. “In an effort to help as many people as possible, we’re opening our doors to provide access to qualified medical and counseling professionals with no strings attached. This community service provides a sense of direction to help parents make better choices for effective treatments.”
To take advantage of the free evaluation, an individual who suspects they may suffer from ADD/ADHD – or the parent of a child who may – can register online or by telephone.
A common condition in the U.S., ADD/ADHD is estimated to affect up to 7 percent of U.S. school children, or around 4 million. Additionally, because of the strong genetic link, many parents of children with ADD/ADHD find that they themselves are suffering from the condition.
“Most adults with ADD/ADHD could benefit greatly from non-pharmaceutical treatments like coaching, counseling and nutrition therapy,” says Theresa Lavoie, Ph.D., Director of Psychology Services. “These adults have learned to cope with the ADD/ADHD, but in many cases they have internalized the effects and continue to struggle in certain areas. They don’t fully understand how the disorder has impacted their lives professionally and emotionally.”
Studies show that adults with ADD have higher rates of alcohol and drug addiction, joblessness, divorce and other serious consequences. With the appropriate treatments, adults can learn to manage ADD/ADHD and significantly minimize the negative impact on their lives.
Other important treatment components available at ADD Health and Wellness Centers include:
• Neuropsychological evaluations and diagnostic clarifications
• Education and counseling
• Behavioral and cognitive treatment for ADD and other co-existing conditions
• Academic tutoring and placement specialists
• Coaching services
• Support groups
• Social skills groups
• Skills-based group treatment
• Intensive workshops
• Complementary and alternative non-medication therapies
• Nutritional counseling and supplementation
The ADD Health and Wellness Centers of Greater Boston opened October 1 and is the first of more than a half dozen Centers scheduled to launch around the country in the next year.
About ADD Health and Wellness Centers: ADD Health and Wellness Centers, Inc. is dedicated to individualized, comprehensive, accessible, results-driven treatment for ADD and related conditions. The ADD Health and Wellness Centers of Greater Boston is located at: Jefferson Office Park, 790 Turnpike Street, Suite 106, North Andover, Mass., 01845. It is a recipe by Paula Deen. I love her style of cooking. It is a chicken and rice casserole
2 tablespoons butter or vegetable oil
1 medium onion, peeled and diced
3 cups diced, cooked chicken
2 (14 1/2-ounce) cans green beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup mayonnaise
1 (6-ounce) box long-grain wild rice, cooked according to package directions
1 cup grated sharp Cheddar
Pinch salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat butter or oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add onion and saute until translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl.
Add all remaining ingredients to bowl and mix together until thoroughly combined.
Pour into a greased 3-quart casserole dish. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Cleaning up
Hey all. Decided to take a break so here I am. I am attempting to get the chored done before the Office comes on. I have a little over an hour. I should make, or better yet, I will. I still have to help my son, the one with special needs, get cleaned up and ready for bed. He generally goes to bed early, about 9PM, but is up at the crack of dawn, 5AM. Yikes right, cause let me tell you, that is every day of the week, no days of sleeping in. Lucky for me I have adapted to early mornings, guess I had too. Believe me, he is worth it. What a good kid he is.

Elections
Hey all. So today is election day, the primarys, that is. Around here the kids get the day off from school, so they came with me to vote. After all, it is a privledge to vote, so get our and do you civil duty. That is how I feel. It is our duty to get out and vote. It drives me crazy when people complain about a certain political figure, but when asked if they voted, they did not. In my eyes then you have nothing to complain about. If you do not vote, then do not complain about who is in office. Do you agree?

RedZee
Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across an interesting site that I wanted to pass on to you all.
RedZee - “kid-safe” Internet searches is a site that deals with providing kid safe internet searches on the computer. This site is a relatively new search engine that filters out the pornographic content that sometimes pops up from searches. It only delivers "clean" porn free searches. This is especially ideal for use with children as it assists in keeping the site safer for children. According to the site they are filling the desperate need for a quality search engine that offers clean, yet still accurate results. Check out this site and add it to your favorites as I plan to also. It is a safe site that will keep that unwanted porn ads off your computer. This is something that I find to be refreshing.
This is a sponsored post.
Press Release:
RedZee raises the bar for “kid-safe” Internet searches
Major search engines have opened up an enormous variety of resources for kids and teens of all ages to find almost anything they search for. Unfortunately it has also created a new avenue for kids and teens to access pornography through these major engines. According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, every year one out of every five children is sexually solicited online. One of the more common incidents on the Internet involves children searching for explicit topics that send kids to pornographic Web sites.
Major search engines allow unfiltered results and that can be a problem, especially if kids are doing the searching. This is raising concern across the nation for schools, parents and even the government. Major search engines could install filters that would stop users from typing explicit topics. Unfortunately, pornography is one of the most searched for items and this would impact their user base and there bottom line.
The Bush administration is trying to pass an Internet child protection law to stop pornographic Web sites from showing up on computers that children are using. In the process, they recently requested records from Google to see what people search for. Although Google refused to release the information, the goal was to see how often a search resulted in a pornographic link. That protection law was struck down just two years ago leaving parents, schools and teens to find ways to get good clean search results. ISE Corporation created RedZee Search (www.RedZee.com), a possible solution to this problem. RedZee, a new search engine, filters out pornographic results while delivering accurate relevant searches. “We are filling the desperate need for a quality search engine that offers clean, yet still accurate results,” says John Stewart of ISE Corporation. RedZee offers fast search results that are targeted correctly to what people are looking for. Searches for explicit or pornographic related words do not have a result. With the peace of mind this company is offering they have quickly become popular with parents, teens and schools across the country. “We take pride in knowing that people count on us to help in the struggle to clean up Internet searching as we know it,” says Stewart.
The government may never be completely successful at passing any laws to keep pornographic search results away from children. In the meantime, RedZee’s quality record sets them apart and continues to push their company to success. That’s why their mission is “to be the most accurate and the most reliable for adults, and at the same time, think of the children.”

No more running around doing time consuming errands, let someone else do them. What an awesome idea this is, especially for a small business that may be crunched for time so very often. This site would be perfect for them. According to the site, So many companies have relied on similar websites to outsource their business needs and in the process, saved themselves valuable time and money. Because of this site, everyone can benefit from this outsourcing trend. I love the idea.

Hoagies
Hey all. What a beautiful spring day here. The weather is simply great. I decided to make hoagies for dinner. One special touch though is that we use cucumbers instead of lettuce as a green and also some of my homemade roasted red peppers. Roast them in the over at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. On them put italian seasoning,, EVOO, and balsalmic vinegar. Try it.

Chicken Pot Pie
Hey all. I was on the food network so more and found a recipe that I wanted to pass on to you. It is a chicken pot pie recipe and tasted awesome. Here it is:
Chicken Pot Pie
Chicken Broth:
1 whole chicken, 3 pounds
1 gallon cool water
2 carrots, cut in 2-inch pieces
2 celery stalks, cut in 2-inch pieces
1 onion, halved
1 head garlic, halved horizontally
2 turnips, halved
4 fresh thyme sprigs
2 fresh rosemary sprigs
1 bay leaf
Pot Pie:
1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 carrots, cut in 1/2-inch circles
1 bag frozen or fresh pearl onions, see note
1 box frozen or fresh peas, see note
Leaves from 4 fresh parsley sprigs
2 frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
1 egg mixed with 3 tablespoons water
1/4 cup shredded Parmigiano-Reggiano
Put the chicken in a large stockpot and cover with 1 gallon of cool water. Add the vegetables and herbs and bring the pot up to a boil over medium-high heat. Skim well; then simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes, skimming frequently as the oil rises to the surface. What we're doing here is not only cooking the chicken but also creating the base sauce for the pot pie. Remove the chicken to a platter to cool. Continue to cook down the chicken broth for another 15 minutes to condense the flavor; you should have about 8 cups when you're finished. Using a colander, strain the chicken broth into another pot and discard the solids. When the chicken is cool enough to handle, shred the meat and discard the skin and bones.
Wipe out the stockpot and put it back on the stovetop over medium heat. Melt the butter and then whisk in the flour to form a paste. This is a roux, which will act as a thickener. Now, gradually pour in 8 cups of the chicken broth, whisking the entire time to prevent lumps. Whisk and simmer for 10 minutes to cook out the starchy taste of the flour and thicken the broth; it should look like cream of chicken soup. Season with salt and pepper. Fold in the shredded chicken, carrots, pearl onions, peas, and parsley. Stir to combine and turn off the heat.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lay the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured, cool surface. Invert individual crocks on the pastry sheet and, using a sharp knife, cut circles around the outside of the bowls, slightly larger than the bowl itself. Fill the crocks 3/4 of the way with the chicken mixture, making sure each serving has a nice amount of chicken, vegetables, and broth. Carefully cap each crock with a pastry circle, pressing the dough around the rim to form a seal. Lightly beat the egg with 3 tablespoons of water to make an egg wash and brush some on the pastry. Sprinkle the pastry with the Parmigiano. Set the crocks on a cookie sheet and transfer to the oven. Bake for 20 minutes, until puffed and golden.
Notes: If using fresh pearl onions, blanch for 2 minutes in salted boiling water; then pinch the skins off -- if using frozen, run under cool water for 2 minutes to thaw.
If using fresh peas, blanch for 2 minutes in salted boiling water--if using frozen, run under cool water for 2 minutes to thaw
Try it as it is great.
Happy Cooking

Math Tutor
Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across a site that I am sure will benefit many of you out there with children.
math tutors is a site that deals with math tutoring as I was no long ago part of with my son. Some background on the site, they help children ages four to fourteen
that are struggling in math as my son was. My son's experience was astounding. Prior to the SCORE program , he was struggling to just pass the class. Now he is receiving a solid B grade and has once or twice helped fellow students, something that has made him very proud to say the least. For anyone with a child struggling, I would highly recommend this program as it does work wonders for your child and through tis helps to build their self esteem.

Hey all. I was on the computer this morning just checking things out. I was looking for some new recipes. I especially like going on the food network site. I enjoy Paula deen and Rachael Ray the most. Paula's cooking uses a lot of butter, but it can be modified some too. The other day she did a show on slow cooker recipes. Check out the archives of that show as there were some really good recipes that day.

Mom
Hey all. So I called my mom and I am going over to visit in about two hours. I told her to have the coffee on. I will probably clean and run the sweeper and she is unable to. My son , that is disabled, is joining me. She loves when he comes too. Though he is unable to speak, he can get his point across. All I will have to say is, want to go to Gram's house and his eyes light up. I will write more later as I must finish the laundry. How I hate doing it, but don't we all?

Concert
So I am going to a concert this evening with my two sisters. They asked me and since we do not get out very often, I thought it would be fun. We are seeing the Indigo Girls. Though I have heard of them, I can not think of any of their songs off hand, but it is not about the concert, it is about hanging out with my sisters. We do not get together as often as we should now that we are older. I guess all the responsibilites in life tie us all up. Anyway, I am sure it will be a fun time. So, no time to cook dinner, so I think pizza might be the dinner of choice.

KAL Energy
Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across an interesting site that I wanted to pass on to you all.
KAL Energy website is a site that uses Indonesian infrastructure advantages to speed up business. This may sound a bit complicated, so here is a little background on the site. According to the site, KAL Energy, the site we are reading about, their mineral claims are located in a region of Indonesia called East Kalimantan. This is a region of large amounts coal exporting which has been in operation since the 1980s. According to the company, several infrastructure elements have allowed this region in Indonesia to maintain world-leading production rates. This, of course, is much to their benefit. Among these elements are the following which are according to the site, rapid rates of scale production, a minimization of front-loaded capital expenditures and a diminished unit costs in comparison to competitors. One key element to this working so posittvely for them is the close proximity of Kal Energy’s mine properties to two very key rivers in the area. These are the Mahakam and Kadang Pahu Rivers which because of the proximately provide for cheap barge transport of coal. This may sound a bit complicated, but if you read the press release that I have included, it will explain it even further.

Press Release:
KAL Energy Uses Indonesian Infrastructure Advantages to Propel Business
A 2006 report by AME Mineral Economics states that Indonesia has become the world’s top thermal coal-producing area, taking a distinct lead over former top producers Australia and South Africa. While many in the industry might attribute the change to better mining techniques or higher quality product, the real answer lies within a somewhat surprising realm -- transportation.
“A low cost transportation infrastructure is essential to the economic exporting of coal,” states KAL Energy CEO Cameron Reynolds. “It’s one of the reasons Indonesia has jumped ahead in the market; other areas in the world have simply failed to, or can’t, overcome infrastructure constraints.”
KAL Energy’s mineral claims are located in East Kalimantan, Indonesia -- a region of active coal export since the 1980s. According to Reynolds, several infrastructure elements allow the region to maintain world-leading production rates. Among these are rapid rates of scale production, a minimization of front-loaded capital expenditures and diminished unit costs in comparison to competitors. The close proximity of Kal Energy’s mine properties to both the Mahakam and Kadang Pahu Rivers provide for low cost barge transport of coal.
“While other regions around the world are stuck at a certain level of production, places like Kalimantan, in Indonesia, continue to ramp their production massively,” says Reynolds. “It’s definitely a factor that I think investors are starting to realize.” Kal Energy has recently become a public company, trading under the symbol KALG.
KAL Energy has already secured the rights to an estimated geological resource of 192 million tons of thermal coal. This coal has been identified to have a very low sulphur and ash content which allows it to be utilized for more environmentally friendly electricity generation than many other Asian coals. They have made plans to produce and ship 200,000 tons of its product to end users in the latter half of 2007, with additional plans to scale production to 5 million tons per year within the next four years and 15 million tons per year on a long-term basis, after the successful completion of the exploration program and subsequent world class mining feasibility study. The company expects further long-term demand through Coal-to-Liquid (CTL) technologies.
“When you find an advantage, you exploit it in every way possible; and that’s exactly what we plan to do long into the future,” adds Reynolds.

Recipe
Hey all. We had turkey sausage for dinner. If you have never tried it, I urge you to, it is great. It tastes like regular pork sausage, but no fat or added calories. I cooked it in a little bit of olive oil. Turn it a couple of times. If you choose, add some sliced up onions and green peppers. Cook on medium stove temp for about 10-12 minutes. Serve with some spaghetti sauce on a hard roll. Omit the sauce if you have none. This type of sandwich is great. Try the turkey sausage, I guarantee you will never go back to pork sausage.

Appraisal360
Hey all. I was on the internet this afternoon and I came across a site that I wanted to pass on to you.
360 degree feedback is a unique new online service and here is how it works. This site allows employees of various companies to get feedback from their fellow workers about how their performance is at their workplace. This site can assist in two ways. One is with building confidence to the employee by receiving positive feedback from fellow employees. Number two is with assistance in dealing with bosses who just choose to not listen and also dealing with those difficult fellow employees who always have a bad effect on their workmates. If you would like to learn more about this new concept, please read the press release that I have included. it is interesting reading.

Press Release:
Selecting and recruiting the right people for your business is important but what really matters is how well people perform once they are in the job and whether they become a positive asset to your business.
“Getting the right person to work for you is only the start of the story.” Says Richard Oppenheimer, Director of Appraisal360. “It’s easy to select someone who ticks all the right boxes on paper, but what really matters is how they interact with other members of staff, customers and suppliers once they are in the job.”
These so called soft skills are often overlooked by employers who focus hard on qualifications and CV’s. And although these hard factors are important, research shows that actual success is far more dependent on people’s Emotional Intelligence than anything else.
“Emotional Intelligence at work is all about how people conduct themselves and work together.” says Richard, “We look at aspects such as self motivation, how people manage their emotions, how they relate to other people, self awareness and their ability to coach and support others.”
Of course, the only real way to assess these things objectively is to ask other people – and that’s where the problems start. “Sometimes it can be difficult to get objective feedback for whatever reason, and so the employee doesn’t really have anywhere to start from.” Which is why Appraisal360 have introduced a new online tool which uses 360 degree feedback.
“The advantage of the Appraisal360 system,” says Richard, “is that it allows us to gather feedback confidentially from colleagues, associates, customers or indeed anyone who knows that person well.” The employee then gets a detailed report which forms a cornerstone of their training and development plan.
“We’ve found that using a 360 degree feedback system like Appraisal360 often makes a dramatic difference to the way teams of people work together. It can be immensely liberating for the individual to have an accurate appraisal of how other people perceive them – and they often gain a lot of confidence because they find that people see in them qualities that they hadn’t realised.”
Most of us can think of someone who doesn’t seem to be aware of the impact that they have on other people – but the difficulty is always finding a way of fixing the problem in an objective way that leads to a positive outcome. People are more likely to accept the messages they get from 360 degree feedback than they are from one to one discussions with the boss, which they can see as one sided or uninformed. “It’s very difficult to hide from something if everybody is saying the same thing.” says Richard Oppenheimer, Director of Appraisal360. “We generally gather feedback from six other people as well as the person themselves to compile our reports. And because it’s all done online by an outside company people can be confident that they can be honest in what they say and it won’t be taken personally.”
Some employers decide to roll out 360 degree feedback right across their workforce – with dramatic effects in many cases. Things tend to run much more smoothly when there is an open supportive culture where you work and many employers now routinely include regular 360 degree feedback as part of their staff training, development and appraisal program.
“Most major companies have been using 360 degree feedback for some time now,” says Richard, “and now you can too. The service that we offer together with Appraisal360 is quick, easy and cost effective. And it’s designed for employers who really want to see their people succeed and grow.”

Speech and Debate
Hey all. Well I just got home a little while ago. My son had his speech and debate banquet. It went well. The served desserts at intermission. Some of the kids were amazing with their speeches. A few were really funny, but the ones that were drama were so moving. To think that these are high school kids, let me tell you, they are so talented. My son's year in speech and debate was a little disappointing to him. He was too busy to put together a really good speech. I told him to hang in there as he is still a sophomore and maybe he will do better next year. Kudos to the kids that are going on to nationals.

The children perform by doing various speeches they did through the course of the year. It was really interesting last year. I expect the same from this year. Will let you know tomorrow.
