Weekend Warrior Freeze It

Hey all. I was on the internet this evening and I came across a great site that reminded me of my husband and his ankle pains, so I wanted to pass it on to you all as it may help some of you out there that suffer with various aches and pains.
Freeze It Gel is an awesome product that soothes many aches and pains including arthritis and sore joints to name a few. This makes me think of my husband, who many years ago played high school football and at one of the games he was injuried. He tore all the ligiments in his right ankle. To this day, many years later, it still causes his a lot of discomfort, especially in the cold months and also first thing in the morning. He has tried FreezeIt with great results as it helps the pain greatly for him. He goes through quite a bit of it, especially in the colder months. I know it would make him a lot more comfortable as there are times he just has to sit and elevate his ankle as it is so painful and does get swollen at times as well. Though it was crazy that he hurt himself so bad playing football, it is over and done with, now he just has to learn to deal with it. This product is sure to help him in that undertaking. Freeze It comes on a gel form an is also great in the treatment of sore muscles, neck and back pain, arthritis pain, which so many people deal with these days. Also great for knee, hip, and ankle joints, my husband is here. If you suffer and deal with any of these problems, this is the site to check out and learn more about this product. It will work wonders for you too, I am sure. Check out the commercial that I embedded as well.

Pumpkin Pie

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 cups canned pumpkin, mashed
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg plus 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, optional
1 piece pre-made pie dough
Whipped cream, for topping

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Place 1 piece of pre-made pie dough down into a (9-inch) pie pan and press down along the bottom and all sides. Pinch and crimp the edges together to make a pretty pattern. Put the pie shell back into the freezer for 1 hour to firm up. Fit a piece of aluminum foil to cover the inside of the shell completely. Fill the shell up to the edges with pie weights or dried beans (about 2 pounds) and place it in the oven. Bake for 10 minutes, remove the foil and pie weights and bake for another 10 minutes or until the crust is dried out and beginning to color.

For the filling, in a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer. Add the pumpkin and beat until combined. Add the sugar and salt, and beat until combined. Add the eggs mixed with the yolks, half-and-half, and melted butter, and beat until combined. Finally, add the vanilla, cinnamon, and ginger, if using, and beat until incorporated.

Pour the filling into the warm prepared pie crust and bake for 50 minutes, or until the center is set. Place the pie on a wire rack and cool to room temperature. Cut into slices and top each piece with a generous amount of whipped cream.

Veterans Day

Hello all. Well today is Veterans Day. How you are all celebrating it in your own way. My one son is home from school, but the other has school today. Strange is it not? We are planning a nice dinner at home tonight. I am making a chicken dish. I think my son is planning on helping me cook as he is the chef in the house. I put him on dessert duty.

Biotene

Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across an interesting site that I wanted to pass on to you all as well as I am sure that you can benefit from this product.
Biotene is a product that can help those of you that suffer with teeth sensitivity. This product especially stands out among toothpastes for sensitive teeth as it provides you with the maximum sensitivity relief along with the fact that this toothpast will not just pretend to get rid of the sensitivity, but rather it will actually resolve the issue and rid you of the problem all together. I recall a time not all that long ago when I really could have benefitted from this product. We were at a wedding reception and my front teeth were especially sensitive that day. Actually they were driving me crazy. I took some tylenol, but that really did not do anything. I was not able to enjoy all the great food that was available at the reception as well. All I could think about was how sore my mouth was, instead of having a good time at the reception. This was a time that I now wish I knew about this product as it could have made all the difference in the world for me that day. Instead of barely eating anything, I could have enjoyed the huge food buffet as most everyone did. If you are ever faced with this situation, I urge you to check out this product. It is available at stores such as CVS, Rite-Aid, Walgreen's and other leading retailers. Believe me, this product can make all the difference in the world if you are a sufferer of sensitive teeth as I am.
Be sure to check it out.

Sensitivetoothpaste is a product you do not want to be without when your teeth are causing you pain.

Hamilton Beach® Mixer is a great site for any of you that enjoy cooking and baking as I do. I have a great biscotti recipe that I love to make during the holidays and this mixer would be perfect. The Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer is a stand out mixer. The three year warranty and quiet operation are just some of the features I am impressed with. Also with 400 watts of power, making the biscotti would be a breeze. I am sure to add this to my wish list as the twelve settings would allow me to prepare just about anything. Here is my biscotti recipe that I wanted to share with you. The family loves and I am sure you will too.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3/4 cup pistachios, coarsely chopped
2/3 cup dried cranberries
12 ounces good-quality white chocolate, chopped
Red and green sugar crystals, for garnish

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Line a heavy large baking sheet with parchment paper. Whisk the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl to blend. Using an electric mixer, beat the sugar, butter, lemon zest, and salt in a large bowl to blend. Beat in the eggs 1 at a time. Add the flour mixture and beat just until blended. Stir in the pistachios and cranberries.

Form the dough into a 13-inch long, 3-inch wide log on the prepared baking sheet. Bake until light golden, about 40 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes.

Place the log on the cutting board. Using a sharp serrated knife, cut the log on a diagonal into 1/2 to 3/4-inch-thick slices. Arrange the biscotti, cut side down, on the baking sheet. Bake the biscotti until they are pale golden, about 15 minutes. Transfer the biscotti to a rack and cool completely.

Stir the chocolate in a bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water until the chocolate melts. Dip half of the biscotti into the melted chocolate. Gently shake off the excess chocolate. Place the biscotti on the baking sheet for the chocolate to set. Sprinkle with the sugar crystals. Refrigerate until the chocolate is firm, about 35 minutes

I hope that you enjoy it and be sure to check out this site Eclectrics® Mixer as the site is impressive.

New York CityPass is a site that offers for sale, a city pass to the New York City area. What a clever and unique gift for that someone special on your list who may be very difficult to buy for. All the passes included in your CityPass are valid from Dec15th through March of 2008. You have three months to take advantage of all the sights to see included in the pass. The areas included in the CityPass are admissions to the following, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, also the Greek and Roman Galleries, one area that I love, the Museum of Modern Art, also the Guggenheim Museum and the American Museum of Natural History, this is something my son would just flip over.It does not end there as a trip to the top of the Empire State Building Observatory and tour of the Manhattan Skyline from the water aboard a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise is also included in the pass. Remember you have three months to use it and by having these passes, you do not have to wait in any long lines waiting for tickets. The cost of these passes are $65 for adults and for children ages 12-17 the cost is just $49. What a great holiday gift. Be sure to keep this one in mind when shopping this season.

Shopping

Hey all. I am heading out to go grocery shopping. I am not taking my Mom this week as she is vacationing in Florida. I hope that she is having a great time. She is visiting her brother who now lives down there. They are both getting up in age, so it is important to her to visit with him. She will be back next week and I can not wait to hear about her trip. More to follow.

Digital Cameras

Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across an interesting site that I wanted to pass on to you all as well, especially with the holidays soon approaching.
scrapbooking is a site dealing with digital cameras. My daughter recently graduated from high school and that was the one gift she wanted her Dad and I to get her as a graduation present. We purchased for her a canon rebel with a 10.2 megapixil. She absolutely loves it and soon after she graduated, we went on a cruise. I must say that that camera became well used. She took hundreds of pictures and the memories are preserved thanks to that camera. With the zoom lens, she was able to take some great pictures of the awesome flowers in Bermuda as well. I think that she enjoys that camera most for taking pictures of various scenery views. I know that she has taken a lot of the recent picturesque flaming foliage as well. I know the best feature on that camera is the zoom lens we purchased for her. She has captured some beautiful flowers really up close as well. With the holidays right around the corner, what a thoughtful gift to give to that special someone, a new digital camera. Using a digital camera allows you to capture all those special memories, and share them with others as you upload them onto your computer and e-mail the pictures to family and friends that are far away. I know that we frequently do this as we have close family in other states.
If you are planning on purchasing a camera with the holidays arriving, I strongly suggest that you check out this site as you will be glad that you did. Happy Holidays as well.

iFloor

Hey all. I was on the internet this morning and I came across an interesting site that I wanted to pass on to you all as well.
iFLOOR is a flooring site that is promoting a great offer in response to the many online customers that feel companies are denying warranties to them. This site is promoting a $1,000,000 warranty to protect their customers if the manufacturer denies them if a claim is made by them in regard to their flooring. That is right iFloor wants to protect their online customers from companies refusing to assist them when their is a problem with their flooring. iFloor will do right by them. If you are in the market for flooring of any kind, I strongly suggest that you check out this site. Not only do they offer a great selection, but you know if there is a problem of any kind relating to the warranty, this site will be there for you. Please check out the press release included as well.

Press Release:

iFLOOR, America's largest online flooring retailer, today announced a $1,000,000 limited warranty designed to protect its customers from predatory manufacturer policies that exclude warranty coverage from online purchases.

The policy, which goes into effect immediately, offers up to one million dollars of coverage in the event that a customer's warranty claim is denied specifically because they made their purchase online. It is complimentary for every iFLOOR customer, and protects the buyer under the same terms as the original product warranty.

iFLOOR, Inc. CEO, Steve Simonson, came up with the program to combat "scare tactics" used by manufacturers of hardwood floors and laminate flooring. "Their idea is to discourage you from buying at a discount!" wrote Simonson in his blog "It's About Flooring". "This is not right! You deserve to save money! So we're going to take care of this problem once and for all."

And it would appear that federal law is on his side. Section 108 of the 1975 Magnuson-Moss Act, states that, "In general, tie-in sales provisions are not allowed. Such a provision would require a purchaser of the warranted product to buy an item or service from a particular company to use with the warranted product in order to be eligible to receive a remedy under the warranty."

Under iFLOOR's new warranty, a key provision allows for iFLOOR to "seek justice" on behalf of the customer in the event of legal action. According to Simonson, "I'm putting iFLOOR's money where my mouth is."

About iFLOOR, Inc.
