Hey all. What a quiet friday night. Tomorrow I need to go to an appliance store and buy a refrigerator for our apartment house. The second floor is in need of one. I do not plan to spend alot of money. My plan is to find a great deal at the first store and then be done for the day. Wish me luck.

My dog

Limiting the spread of the organism in schools and sports will continue to be a major problem.” Dr. Bearden also points out the impact MRSA has had in sports. “The St. Louis Rams made headlines in the New England Journal of Medicine for a well publicized outbreak of MRSA skin infections,” says Bearden. “Infection has also been well documented in otherwise healthy children, and athletes at all levels. This MRSA strain appears to be more aggressive than other strains of bacteria, and has caused severe infections.” Additionally, the Cleveland Browns football team has been hit hard, losing several players to MRSA staph infection. Dr. Peter Coelho, a physician who works with athletes at California’s San Benito High School is also worried about the effect on schools and athletics. “This bug scares the daylights out of me. It’s a ticking time bomb in high school sports, especially football and wrestling….It’s only a matter of time,” said Coelho. Other schools have also begun battling the super bug. In November 2006, three schools in Ohio’s York City school district were closed due to a staph infection outbreak. What Can People Do to Try and Avoid a MRSA Infection? “In non-infected patients, hand washing, coverage and care of wounds, and limiting shared personal items (e.g., towels, razors) are important. Patients infected with MRSA should take caution to limit exposure of the wound to others,” says Bearden. Cuts, scrapes and abrasions are common entry points for MRSA bacteria that lead to staph infection. StaphAseptic is applied to minor wounds to kill the bacteria to help prevent a MRSA related staph infection. Memorial

Hey all. I was on the computer this afternoon and found this information that I wanted to pass onto you.
Glenn Kawesch, MD was an eye surgeon in the San Diego area. My sister lives out in that area and knew him briefly as he performed lasik eye surgery on her eyes about 18 months ago. To Glenn Kawesch, MD, my heartfelt condolences go out to his family at their time of sorrow. I am sure that he touched the lives of so many people both in his eye practice and also in his personal life. He will be truely missed by all those that knew him. May he rest in peace.

When stocks go up, the price of gold usually falls; when stocks flounder, the price of gold usually skyrockets. Some experts believe it could mean a lot for investors in 2007, because gold is once again catching the eye of the investor. For General Metals Corporation, the news couldn’t come at a better time. “With our plans to begin drilling at Independence Mine, we’re more than thrilled to hear gold is making a comeback,” states company CEO Stephen Parent. “We’re even more excited with our location; it’s a proven producer.” General Metals acquired the Independence Mine in northern Nevada and became a public company last year, trading under the symbol GNLM. Predominantly a silver mine from 1938 to 1987, the Independence Mine is estimated to contain over two million ounces of gold, as well as over two million ounces of additional un-mined silver. As the Independence Mine is essentially an island within Newmont Mining’s Phoenix Mine, the area is already a proven producer. According to Parent, they plan to remove the precious metals in two phases. “Phase one includes our ‘shallow’ targets,” says Parent. “The shallow targets contain less gold, but they’re easily and quickly accessible, which will encourage early cash flow. Phase two is where the majority of our gold will come from. It’s deep mining, but we expect it to produce 1.4 to 2 million ounces of gold.” They expect to produce 20,000 ounces of gold in the first year, 60,000 ounces in the second year and 70,000 ounces in the third year -- approximately $101 million from early estimates. The company also anticipates an additional $1.36 billion to be gained from phase two production. In an effort to increase their mining production, General Metals has recently acquired the Nyinahin Mining Concession in Ghana. Located in one of the most active exploratory areas in the world, this concession shares borders with several major mining companies, including Newmont Mining, Napoli Gold and Dunkwa Continental Goldfields. “Financial experts are predicting gold to play a key role in investor’s profiles during 2007,” adds Parent. “But due to the timely nature, potential investors will need to act quickly in order to maximize their gains.”

Hi all. I was on the internet this morning and i came across a site that may be of interest to you.
Hunger and Other Stories by Ian Randall Wilson is a book by Ian Randall Wilosn. The book is not yet in stores,but will be soon. I checked out a short excerpt from the book and found it to be a well written book, discussing the relationship between a father and his son. It talks about the father, presumably divorced,having his son that weekend and working in the Shop, the weekend before Christmas, many of the father's childhood memories were coming back to him. Memories of his Dad and of another family friend, Emmanuel, both gone now. How that particular day, they seemed to be in the Shop with him and his son. It continues to discuss their interactions.

Well it was an early morning. My son with special needs was up very early, so I must be up with him.
